Breakfast Nook

Designed to custom fit a Williamsburg apartment in the Lewis Steel Building, this breakfast nook plays off of the historic building’s industrial roots. Originally a steel factory building in the 1930’s, the apartment units feature exposed brick and uncovered cast-iron fixtures such as steel beams, piping and radiators. When creating this nook, I tried my best to remain true to the existing building ethos whilst bringing a modern solution to an underutilized corner of the space. The bench was delivered to apartment in two parts and finished at the site.
