West Village Apartment

Project currently ongoing

After graduation I focused on redesigning my own apartment. My studio is only a little over 200 square feet - but rent stabilized - so my dream is to hold on to it as long as I can manage to. The goal was to maximize every inch of space without compromising comfort and functionality.

Although it is devastatingly impossible to make a one-bedroom apartment out of this studio, I finally settled on an ideal space use plan.

I primarily selected neutral tones to create an illusion of space and enhance the limited natural light coming in from the windows.

Multi-functional furniture pieces, such as a convertible twin-to-king bed and customized storage kitchen island, were designed to custom fit the space and optimize versatility. Storage solutions were integrated into the design, including built-in shelving units and rolling storage compartments. Finally, colorful pops of color and decorative mirrors were incorporated to add depth and character to the space.
